Hey! Remember Me?

I'm so sad that this little blog has been so neglected lately. I really want to write more because this is basically my record book of our lives but time just isn't on my side these days. I need to get better about it because these days are going by in a flash and I know I'm going to forget all of the little details so quickly! Anyway, I wanted to pop in and do a quick update.

-Adelyn had her 2 month check up on Friday. She weighs 10 lbs 1 ounce and is 22.5 inches long. She has gained 4 lbs since birth! Momma's milk is doing her good! :)

-Emerson is silly and wild as ever. She keeps us on our toes all.the.time. She's an amazing big sister and loves Adelyn so much.

-Speaking of, our sweet girl will be THREE years old in less than 2 months. We didn't have a party for her last year so I really wanted to do something fun for her this year. Her gymnastics/dance teacher is opening her own dance studio and gym so we have decided to have a gymnastics party! They had a groupon deal that was just too good to pass up. I hope E loves it!

-I've still been working out pretty consistently but I feel like the progress is super slow. We are also making a serious effort to clean up our diets, including Emerson's. Junk food has creeped it's way in and I don't like it! I'll post more on this, as well as my workout stuff, soon. You can also follow me on Instagram!

-Jesse's doctor is recommending another surgery due to some issues that have come up with his ankle. If he decides to do it, he'll be on crutches for 6 weeks! We are both dreading the thought of it but we also want to do whatever it takes for him to be completely healed.

-Adelyn is still not nursing and I am still pumping. It's not ideal and can be a big pain, but we are making it work. I plan on dedicating a whole post to that topic soon.

Other than that we are just living life! We've been busy with church, birthday parties, playdates and other activities. And, of course, the transition from one kid to two keeps us busier than ever. We wouldn't trade it for the world, though. Hopefully I'll be back soon with all of those posts I've been promising!

Adelyn Elise: Two Months

Our sweet girl has changed so much in the last month. She's starting to lose that newborn look and she has filled out quite a bit- especially in her cheeks. I am just in love with them! This is such a fun stage because she is still so cuddly but is also becoming more aware of everything around her.  Seeing her precious little smile makes it even more amazing!

Weight: We'll get measurements at the doctor on Friday but I'm going to guess that she's a little over 10 lbs now.  Emerson was 9 lbs 10 ounces at 2 months and I'm pretty sure baby sister has surpassed that. Even though she started off small she has wasted no time catching up! :)
Length: No idea- I'll update after her appointment

A few things about Adelyn at two months:

-She sleeps from about 8:00 PM to 3:30 AM. After eating at 3:30 she is usually back to bed until 6:30 or 7:30.

-She loves to be swaddled and sleeps so much better when she is.

-She doesn't really have a set nap time schedule but I've been mostly following the eat-play-sleep schedule. Her wake time is usually anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.

-She also loves to be held. There are some periods throughout the day when she is unhappy unless someone is holding her.

-She still enjoys being worn and usually falls asleep pretty quickly in the wrap or ring sling.

-She will take a pacifier but she's not a huge fan. Most of the time she just spits them out.

-She eats 4 ounces of breastmilk about every 2-3 hours. Unfortunately she is still not nursing and I am still pumping. That is a whole post in itself....

-She is wearing Size 1 diapers and 0-3 month clothes. Most of her newborn stuff has been packed up.

-She has really started smiling and cooing. I love her hearing her little voice.

-She rolled over from tummy to back at about 6 weeks.

-She doesn't seem to mind tummy time too much but now that she can roll over it's harder to keep her on her tummy.

-She took her first crib nap last week. Most of the time she naps in her swing.

-She still sleeps in her room but doesn't seem super comfortable in the Rock N Play so we are debating moving her to her crib or maybe the pack n play in our room. I'm not sure I'm quite ready to send her to her room. ;)

-She snores like no other- especially in the Rock N Play. Jesse calls her our little gremlin because of how noisy she is at night.

-There are times that she is just not a fan of her carseat. It can make short car rides seem a bit long. :)

-I feel like a lot of my day is spent just trying to keep everyone fed, clothed, and somewhat content. So I often use Emerson's nap time to get in lots of extra snuggles with my littlest girl.

-She has been drooling like crazy lately. I'm seriously wondering if she may be teething already.

-She's the sweetest girl and definitely spoiled. She's a pretty happy baby most of the time- especially if she is being held.

Firsts This Month:
-crib nap
-road trip
-seeing snow
-rolled over from tummy to back

-We love her so very much and we can't wait to watch her grow. God sure knew exactly what he was doing when he put Miss Adelyn Elise in our family!

Emerson has grown quite fond of our new addition and I'm pretty sure the feeling is mutual. No one can get a smile out of Adelyn quite like E can. Emerson is constantly kissing and patting A and she tells her that she loves her with all her heart. When she wakes up in the morning the first thing she asks about is her sister. I love that they are already developing a special bond and I can't wait to watch it grow over the years. I pray that they will be best friends! Over the last few weeks I've tried to get a couple of pictures of them together, so I wanted to share a few of my favorites.

I know without a doubt that Emerson is crazy about Adelyn because she shares her most prized possession with her.
I'm so thankful for my two precious girls!

A Little Update

Wow! I can't believe it's been almost two weeks so I've posted! It definitely wasn't intentional but life with two kids is...busy. I have hardly opened my computer these last few weeks! Anyway, I wanted to do a quick update and let y'all know what we've been up to.

-I feel like this week we are finally getting a good routine down. Adelyn is napping a little bit more consistently and Emerson has been extra sweet (after a pretty rough week last week!) This makes for a very happy momma! Having two kids is definitely a game changer and I have learned SO much in the last 8 weeks. I'm thankful that we seem to be settling into our new normal. :)

-We took a trip to the mountains last week. We had our own little cabin and it was Emerson's first time to see snow EVER! She loved it. Of course I have a million pictures to share and I hope to do that soon.

-Adelyn will be TWO months old on Sunday. It just can't believe it. She has changed so much in the last few weeks and it just getting SO BIG! She's got the sweetest little chubby cheeks and adorable grin. We sure are crazy about her.

-I haven't done a weight loss update because there just isn't much to update. I've been working out regularly but my eating hasn't been that great. The scale has hardly budged in the last 6 weeks. It's a bit frustrating but I'm doing my best to be patient (and to clean up my diet!) I'm hoping to start doing weekly fitness posts again sometime soon.

Overall, life is good! I feel like the days are just a whirlwind and that time is passing by a little bit too quickly! I hope that I can back into blogging more regularly because I love looking back on these posts and reminiscing. But for now, I'll definitely choose sleep over blogging. :)
