Let's Chat

6.19.2014

I used to come to this little space of the internet and just write and share. Life has been crazy lately and I just haven't found the time to sit down and really write. The truth is, I really miss it. I miss sharing my heart and what's going on in my life. Right now the house is quiet. Jesse left for work early this morning and both of my kiddos are sleeping. It's the perfect time to sit down and have a little chat with y'all! I'm going to pretend that you are sitting down right here next to me and that we are just two old friends catching up. This may be random and pretty much picture less, so be prepared.

-Life has been so good lately. I feel like we are finally get some sense of normalcy back. Jesse is doing so well with his recovery and I feel like I finally have a handle on Adelyn's sleep schedule and the whole two kid thing. I'm not an expert by any means but I don't feel quite so overwhelmed.

-And on that note, my sweet little baby turned 5 months old a few days ago. I'm in denial that she is already getting so big. I need to get a 5 month post up but I haven't taken any pictures yet. #momfail

-Jesse and I are being baptized at the beach this Sunday. God has done so much in our lives over the last year and we are so, so blessed. I'm so excited to declare it to the world with this big step. I can't wait to see what He has in store for us.

-I still look at rental listings almost daily. Even though we have decided we are staying put for now, I can't help but take a peek at what's on the market. At this point I don't care if the house is tiny, I just want a yard for my kiddos. It's just insane how much that costs here.

-I am super, super pumped about a new workout program being released today. It's called Piyo and it is no impact, no equipment workout. That's right- it's all bodyweight exercises. The results I have seen from this program are incredible and I think it's just what I need when I finish T25 Gamma. The best part is that Chalene Johnson is the instructor. She's seriously my all time favorite. The program is only $10 if you order Shakeology. How awesome is that? If you want more info, let me know or you can order here directly once it launches! I'm ordering my copy today!!

-We have officially been using an envelope budgeting system for 6 months. I may sound a little overdramatic here but I feel like it has changed my life. It's makes keeping track of everything so much easier and I don't feel guilty when I shop anymore because I know I'm using money allotted just for that! Even Emerson has become a budget fanatic. This was a direct quote on Monday morning: "Momma, I want some money in my budget so I can trade it for donuts." Gotta get 'em started early! :)

-I went to a community event for Thirty One gifts last night. One of my first San Diego friends is a Director and she invited me so that I could really see what Thirty One is all about. Y'all, I was blown away! I have never been in a room of friendlier, more encouraging women in my life. I know a lot of people think Direct Sales Company/home parties are scams but I was blown away by the mission and values of this company. I'm sure you can guess that there will be more to come about Thirty One! ;)

-Just thought I'd let y'all know that I am STILL pumping. Adelyn is showing absolutely no interest in nursing and I'm just not ready to make the switch to formula. That being said, there are days that I am SO over it and I say I'm done. It's all talk, of course. We'll see how it goes while we are on vacation but I am proud that I have stuck it out this long.

Well I guess that is enough rambling for one day. I know I keep saying this, but I really hope to get back into regular blogging soon.   In the meantime, thanks for sticking around!

Way to go with the pumping! I exclusively pumped for 2 months after Evan stopped nursing and it made me want to scream. On another note, my husband and I have been using the envelope system for 2 years and we LOVE it. It allows us to put more money to those annoying student loans each month. We are HUGE Dave Ramsey fans! Your continuous blogging inspires me to get back to blogging sometime soon.

Glad you are finding your groove! I don't know how you do it pumping and feeding but you go girl! Happy to hear what you've been up to and love that you are doing DR! We have been debt-free for 4 years now and the budget is the biggest shovel that gets you there and keeps you there. Thirty-one is an awesome company and awesome products. I've done a show before and got hundreds of dollars in free stuff. Thirty one has pretty much taken over here in my part of TN. Love that stuff!

Way to go on keeping on pumping!!! I want to breastfeed but will obviously have to pump when I go back to work. I am nervous that I wont have much of a supply but I am so determined to give my baby breast milk. Hoping my determination will keep it up for me! :)

Oh please tell me that you are going to sell Thirty One!!!! I know of a friend of a friend who sells it, but would rather purchase from someone who is a friend of mine.

Have a great day!!

How great that you and Jesse are going to be baptized together. And in the ocean. I have enjoyed reading about you all getting plugged into the church you found. What a great job you've done pumping for more than 5 months already! I ended up giving my youngest some formula around 10 months to see if he'd sleep better at night, but I'm such a cheapskate it was hard for me to spend that much money on it when I could nurse (or pump - he was a biter) for free!
