It's time for another installment of L Fam Weekly. I know y'all are just dying to know what we've been up to all week. :)
On Saturday we headed to a nearby outlet mall for lunch. They have a big splash pad/fountain and we didn't realize it would be open so we arrived quite unprepared. Emerson was dying to go in so I ran to the Gap outlet and bought her a little bathing suit and some shoes. It was only in the high 70's that day so it was actually pretty chilly but she had a blast anyway.
We went to church on Sunday but I honestly don't remember what else we did that day but I did get a few cute pictures of my girls.
Jesse was off on Monday and Tuesday, so that was really nice. We spent Memorial Day at a neighbor's house. The kids played in the pool and we hung out and barbecued. It was a nice, relaxing day with friends.
I also got some good runs in! I have only run 5 times in the month of May so I was pretty amazed that I ran one of my fastest miles ever. I guess T25 is paying off in more ways than one! :)
That night we had our last Community Group meeting until the Fall. It was a great meeting but things took a turn for the worse when we got home. I was getting the diaper bag out of the car and as I went to shut the door I heard Emerson scream at the top of her lungs. I didn't realize that she had stuck her fingers in the crease where the door opens and they were being smashed as I shut the door. Luckily I was barely shutting it when she screamed. It was seriously terrifying as I pulled them out- I was so afraid they were going to be partially severed or something. They did look pretty bad and she cried on and off for about an hour but they weren't broken. I have never felt more terrible.
We had our last MOPS meeting on Wednesday morning. I was sad to see it come to an end but I am excited for next year. I have volunteered to be a Discussion Group Leader and I am really excited about it. I am really hoping that the Lord will use me to bless other mommas through MOPS. On an unrelated note, I have lost my sunglasses and Jesse left his in the car so I texted him this picture when we were leaving MOPS. His glasses aren't quite my style but they were a blessing in the moment.
On Thursday we were supposed to go to Bible study but Emerson woke up in a bit of grumpy mood and I decided it would probably just be better to stay home. I could tell that she was tired from our busy week and I also needed to catch up on laundry and housework. We squeezed in some playtime and a trip to the playground.
And Jesse had a work function that night so the girls and I went to Chick Fil A for dinner.
Emerson really hasn't been napping these days so she is usually completely exhausted by around 5:00 every evening. Despite that, she begged and begged to do sidewalk chalk on Friday night.
I'm hoping that we'll make it through this next week injury free...
