We're Still Here

5.02.2014

I hate that a week has gone by and I haven't updated the blog. I have good intentions every day but things at our house have been CRAZY! I don't even think I've had my computer open for the last three days except to work out. Here's a little recap of what we've been up to:

-Jesse has his surgery on Monday. It took over 3.5 hours and we were at the hospital from 7:30 AM until almost 10:00 PM. I am so thankful my Mom was here to watch our babies. It was crazy that Jesse walked in carrying his crutches and then had to be wheeled out at the end of the day. Luckily they didn't have to do one of the procedures they planned and he can start putting weight on his leg as soon as he feels ready. We had previously thought that he would be on crutches for 6 weeks so we are so thankful for this. His recovery is going well and he is feeling better every day.

-Adelyn is growing like a weed. The last week or so has been hard because she has been extra fussy and just doesn't want me to put her down. She screams if anyone but me holds her. While I'm about some extra cuddles, it's hard to take care of Jesse and Emerson at the same time. She's also been refusing naps and just screams while I pump. Needless to say, it has been a bit stressful. I'm hoping it's just a little phase because it's been pretty hard.

-Emerson starts preschool on Monday. Like I mentioned, it's only 2 mornings a week. I think it's going to be perfect for her!

-I'm still sticking to my workout routine despite everything else that is going on. I feel like it's really the only thing I have control of right now! I joined the 3rd round of the mom's fitness challenge I've been a part of, so I am super excited for that. My eating has still been pretty good but I did horribly this last weekend. Once I have one little cheat I seem to go crazy and a cheat meal turns into a cheat weekend. I've also been letting sugar sneak back in and I can totally tell a difference. I think it might be time for another week long clean eating challenge with NO cheats!

-It's officially birthday month. My baby girl is going to be THREE in just a few weeks!!

-I'm so behind on blogging and I actually have quite a few pictures to share. Look for my Easter recap soon. It may be a few weeks late but it will be posted!

And on that note, I have officially been blogging for FOUR years!! This blog has meant so much to me over the years. When we we first moved overseas and I was jobless and lonely, it was my creative outlet. I'm so thankful I started it with this little post. I may not be able to give it the attention that I once did, but I hope to keep blogging as long as possible. There is nothing cooler than being able to go back to a moment in time and relive it through a blog post.

Happy Friday, friends!

It's just a phase...it will pass. I'm sure it's hard with her being fussy. That picture of her in the bumbo is so fun.

Missed you but totally understand not having time to blog. Between work, mom-duties, chores, etc....I do good to keep Haley's monthly updates going. But I'm like you, I love to be able to click and relive a whole time in my life through my blog. Adelyn is probably just going through a stage, like you said, and will hopefully get through the fussiness. I remember Haley doing that some when she was that age. She may be getting ready to want to chew on stuff if she can hold things. Haley loved her play mat too at that age. Just some ideas.

Wow it has been a crazy week for y'all! I hope things ease up soon! And that's great news that Jesse will be able to recover much faster than y'all originally thought!
