Make.it.stop! Seriously, if I had a magic wand I think I would just make time stop for a while. Those last few weeks of pregnancy were tortuous for me because I just could wait to meet this precious girl. Now that she's here, time is flying by much too quickly for my liking. In just 10 days my tiny girl will already be a month old! Here's a little bit about Adelyn during her third week:
Weight: 6 lbs 10 oz (That's a 9 oz gain in 9 days! Our girl is growing!)
Length: Not sure
-Even before we had her weighed yesterday I knew that she grown quite a bit. Her little arms and legs don't look so skinny and even her face has filled out. I can't believe how fast she is growing!
-Unfortunately nursing has become even more an issue and A and I have both been in tears more than once. Up until yesterday, Adelyn was getting most of her milk from a bottle. She usually drinks about 2-3 ounces every 2-3 hours.
-We had a lactation consultant come to our house last night and she was able to help us get Adelyn to nurse. Since then she hasn't had a bottle and has gotten several full feeds. It's amazing! Unfortunately the LC suspects that A has lip tie and a tongue tie which is preventing her from latching fully. We'll be taking her to the doctor next week to see if either need any intervention. Either way we are so happy to have some answers and to be making some progress. It was definitely money well spent!
-If she is hungry and you don't feed her right away, she lets you know! Girlfriend has a strong set of lungs!
-She naps on and off throughout the day but she isn't on any kind of schedule. Luckly she naps easily in the Boba so we are able to get out and about without worrying about disrupting her sleep. At night she is going to sleep about 10:30 and waking up around 4:30 or 5:00 to eat. Sometimes she wakes up around 3:00 but she usually just wants to be held for a bit and then will go back to sleep. It's awesome.
-She has been more alert this week and I've noticed her turning her head when she hears sounds. She definitely recognizes my voice and will turn to find me when she hears me.
-She's been a bit fussier during the day this week but is usually fine as soon as I pick her up. She likes to be held and cuddled and I can't say that I mind. I'm getting really good at doing things one handed. I even made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for E while also holding A.
-We've been on several outings this week. We went to church, a Super Bowl party, small group, Emerson's dance class, and the grocery store. She slept through most of it.
She steals our hearts a little bit more each day! I still can't believe she's ours.
