I can't believe it's already been one week since our precious girl joined our family. She already fits in just perfectly and we love her more than we could have ever imagined.
Here are a few things I want to remember about Adelyn's first week:
Weight: 5 lbs 13 oz.
Length: 19.5 inches
-I still can't believe how tiny she is. I call her my little peanut! We are doing our best to fatten her up, though!
-Nursing is getting better but still not anywhere near where we need it to be so we are going through lots of bottles of pumped milk. Adelyn usually eats 1-2 ounces every 2 hours. For the last two days she has been one sleepy little girl and it's been quite the task to wake her up long enough to eat. I'm really trying to get her to eat every 2 hours so we can get her back up to her birth weight.
-For the first 5 nights I was waking her up twice a night to eat. Last night I didn't wake her up to see how long she would go. She woke up right at 3:00 AM ready to eat. After that she slept until about 7:30. I definitely can't complain about that!
-She is such an easy going, laid back girl. The only time she really cries is when she is super hungry and sometimes during diaper changes. She will let you hold her any way you want, seems to like her carseat, and is just an easy baby!
-She loves to be cuddled and held but she is also content in her swing or just laying on a blanket. We have spent many hours with her sleeping on my chest. I know now how quickly these days go by and I'm trying to soak up every second and enjoy every cuddle.
-She loves the Boba wrap and will sleep in it for hours. I'm so thankful because I foresee a lot of baby wearing in our future. We have to keep up with big sister somehow. :)
-If you pick her up while she's sleeping she will often arch her back, wrinkle her little forehead, and purse her lips. It's the cutest!
-She's been on several outings during her first week. We went to the doctor, MOPS, and to Target twice. She pretty much slept right through all of it.
-She is just the sweetest and I am so very thankful that she's ours! We are so incredibly blessed!
