Midweek Randoms

Today I'm linking up with Megan for Midweek Randoms.

-Emerson is at Mother's Day Out and I'm home catching up laundry, packing for our trip, and finishing orders for Sweet T Kids. It's not glamorous but it sure is nice. Although I have to admit that it was super weird coming home to an empty house.

-Speaking of, Sweet T Kids will be closed temporarily while we are on vacation. I'll let y'all know when I'm taking orders again.

-I am seriously dying for a Vitamix. I was going to get another juicer because I loved juicing in Abu Dhabi but I think a Vitamix is an ever better option because there is no waste. I was *this* close to getting one for Jesse for Father's Day. :)

-I'm hooked on the TV show, Nashville. We're almost to the season finale and it is getting SO good!
-We had Subway for dinner last night and I got the Broccoli Cheese soup for Emerson. Girlfriend could not get enough!

-I started The Fault in Our Stars last night and I have not been able to put it down. I'm kind of scared to see how it ends because I foresee it being a major tearjerker.

-I've been pinning recipes like crazy on Pinterest even though I've yet to try one. I swear one of these days I'm going to be an awesome cook. ;)

Well, I guess that's about it for today. I have plans for a Throwback Thursday post for tomorrow but we'll see if I get all of our packing done first! :)

Weekly Check-In

Well, I can't believe another week has gone by and this little corner of the world wide web has been as quiet ever. I guess I just don't want to break my once a week blogging streak.  I'm going to do my best to get back into regular posting next week but until then, here's a little bit of what we've been up to:

As much playground time as possible:

-A first visit to Mother's Day out. It's at a nearby church and even runs through the summer! It's only one day a week for 4 hours and it's on as needed basis so I think it will be perfect! Emerson loved it and I loved shopping solo for a bit so we will definitely be going back!

-Lots of cake making (with her Lego cupcake set) and "picnics"

-Self portraits and sill faces galore

-crafts and extra juicy watermelon

And lots of other things that mommy failed to get a picture of: play dates, pool time, cookie baking, and coloring. I am publicly promising myself that I WILL get out my DSLR this weekend!

Other than that, it's been pretty quiet around here. We're heading to Texas next week for some family time and we are really looking forward to. Eme can't wait to see her cousins, aunts and uncles and grandparents!

I hope is everyone well! Check back next week for at least two posts! ;)

Five on Friday

Hey everyone! Here I am popping back in to say hello and to link up with Natasha and several others for their fun Five on Friday link-up.

So, here are my five for this lovely Friday.

1. Daddy's Home!
Jesse made it back Wednesday night and Eme and I were SO happy to see him. Yay for having our little family back together again.

2. Workout Switch Up
A few weeks ago I decided it was time to change up my workouts a bit.  I had been doing some high intensity workouts for quite some time and my knees (and shoulders for that matter) didn't seem to happy about it. I decided to switch back to some of my favorite old school workouts, including The Firm. I was surprised at how hard they were even they are so different than what I've been doing. I also finally tried a barre workout, Phsyique 57. I did two of the express workouts that you can rent on their website. I really liked them and I was pretty sore. Next, I plan on trying a Pure Barre DVD that I got from Netflix.
Unfortunately I barely worked out while my mom was here and I haven't quite gotten back into the swing of things. I'm hoping to break that trend today.

3. Machine Troubles
My embroidery machine started going pretty crazy a few days ago. I was working on shirt and it messed up at the very end on the monogram. I was so annoyed! So my mom and I decided to try to work on it and see if we could get it fixed. We tried everything and nothing seemed to be making it better. In fact, it started acting worse! After over an hour we were ready to give up when my mom noticed a piece of fuzz inside one of the tension hooks. I was able to fish it out and turned out to be a huge piece of thread that was all bunched up. From then on, it worked like a dream! Thank goodness. Now I can get back to my orders for Sweet T Kids.

4. Picture Time
I was looking through IPhoto and realized that I haven't used my real camera since Emerson's birthday. Determined to change that, I took it with me to E's gymnastics class on Tuesday. However, I forgot one pretty critical thing: the battery! Luckily my mom was able to snap a few iPhone pics.

5. Lunch Date
Emerson and I have a lunch date today with a friend at our favorite place: Chick Fil A! It will be perfect because she can play while we chat.  And, of course, the food can't be beat. It's a win-win for everyone!

Happy Friday!

Randoms on a Tuesday

Happy Tuesday, y'all! I know I've been MIA lately but I have good reason. Mimi flew in and surprised Emerson last Wednesday so we've been out and about exploring our city.

We've also spent lots of quality time at home, just hanging out and playing Can you tell that someone is absolutely thrilled to have her Mimi here. She has been talking her ear off.
In other random news:

-I can never find my name spelled correctly anywhere. Leave it to Old Navy to name their newest tank top after me! Hehe. :)

-I've been saying forever that I want to actually put together an outfit inspired by Pinterest. Well, folks, I finally did it. This picture is not the greatest because I don't have a full length mirror (and I really hate taking self portraits) but you get the idea. I'm still no fashionista but it was kind of fun!

-Jesse has been gone for the last week and we have missed him like crazy. I'm so thankful that he will be home soon. I'm also dreading this upcoming deployment even more than before.

Other than that, I don't have much to share at the moment. I'm hoping to get back into more regular blogging soon, so don't give up on me! :)
