Weekend Happenings

12.09.2013

This was just one of those weekend that flew right by. I can't believe it's already over!  I did manage to snap a few pictures here and there, so here's a little a bit of what we did:

-I bought a DIY headband kit off of Jane.com about 4 months ago and it has just been sitting in my little sewing room. I made 4 or 5 headbands right after I got it but I hadn't touched it since. I decided that Friday night was the time to tackle the project. It wasn't hard but it was definitely tedious because all of the flowers are attached to netting and had to be cut out. I worked on them for about 3 hours on Friday  night and another hour on Saturday. It was worth it though! I ended up with over 35 headbands and I love them all!! I'm quite sure Adelyn won't be hurting in the accessory department!

-Emerson got plenty more use of her boots. Are you noticing a trend? She pretty much wears them every single day.

-We had a mini family/maternity photoshoot on Saturday morning with my friend Jamie. As usual, Emerson stole the show and Jamie was able to get some adorable smiles from her. I can't wait to the pictures!!

-On Saturday night we met up with one of the Marines from the MSG program. He was with us in Abu Dhabi and was in the area. I had such a fun time visiting with his wife, who is also pregnant.

-Sunday was our busiest day! Our pastor is doing a series on the first Christmas and he is focusing on the character traits of the main characters from the story. It has been awesome and has definitely shed a whole new light on the story. We are still so thankful that we have found our church home. Emerson loves it too- especially because of the cookies/donuts they have after each service. :)

-After church we went out for a quick lunch. Even though E had already had a cookie she talked me into getting her a cake pop. She even shared with Daddy!

-That afternoon we had our church Christmas party. It was an ugly Christmas sweater party. I ended up not wearing one but we did find one for Jesse in the women's department of Wal-Mart. We thought we were being pretty original until we showed up and two other men were wearing the same one! :) We still had a great time, though. Emerson spent most of her time on the playground and in the bouncer.

-We were all pretty exhausted when we got home last night. After a bath we put E to bed early but she had other ideas. She's figured out how to turn on the light in her room so she's been getting up every night and playing after we put her to bed. Some nights she eventually turns off her light by herself and puts herself back to bed. Last night she finally just passed out on the floor right in the middle of playing. Silly girl!

Today we are off to Emerson's first dentist appointment. I'm praying that everything goes smoothly!!
