I hit the 27 week mark last Wednesday and I completely failed to do a bump update. I guess this bathroom selfie will have to do.
It was pretty chilly a few days so we got to put our boots and sweaters to good use.
Emerson and Izzy had a love/hate relationship going on. They were constantly bugging each other but also couldn't stand to be away from each other.
Emerson and I met up with my oldest friend Lawren and her sweet little girl, Addisyn. She was so sweet with Emerson!
Playing dress up has become a bit of an obsession with a certain little someone. From the moment she wakes up until she is in bed she insists on having some sort of costume on.
We also had a few meltdowns here and there. This one was completely fake- our girl has a flair for the dramatics for sure.Jesse and I had our first date night in a long, long time. We went and saw the movie Prisoners. It definitely kept us on the edge of our seat!
Our date night ended up costing a whole lot more than we bargained for when we hit a huge rock in the middle of the road. It destroyed our tire and bent the rim. We had to delay our trip home by a day while we waited for a replacement tire.
On our way home we decided to break up the trip into two days. Tucson is a little more than halfway so we stopped there for the night. We ended up getting a room at the inn on the Air Force base. We lucked out and they put us in the temporary lodging facility. Our room was actually like a little apartment with a full kitchen, a living room and two bedrooms. It was the perfect place for a toddler who had been cooped up in the car all day! It was super cheap, too!
Since being home I feel like all I have done is get caught up laundry and putting things away. I feel like the house is in a constant state of disaster thanks to a very busy (and very adorable) little two year old.
And I can't do a catch up post without mentioning our anniversary. Yesterday Jesse and I celebrated twelve years of marriage! Twelve years!!! That's just crazy to me. I've done a few posts over the last few years about our marriage that sum up a lot of what we've done over the last few years. On our 9th anniversary I was pregnant with Emerson and finally announced it to the world. On our 10th anniversary I shared some of our adventures, and last year we were home with a sick baby girl.
We haven't had Indian food since we left Abu Dhabi so we decided to try out a nearby restaurant to celebrate. It did not disappoint. We stuffed ourselves full of garlic naan, paneer tikka masala, and mixed raita. It.was.amazing! And since we had a special little person along on our date, we decided that a nightcap at Coldstone was just what we all needed. I can't think of a better way to celebrate.
Happy Anniversary, babe. I love you more and more every day and I am so thankful to be your wife.
And I think you are now up to speed! I have lots of other posts coming up over the next few days so be sure and check back!
