Just Random

7.03.2013

Nothing like a little random to let you know what's going on with us:

-Emerson woke up crying at 3 am this morning. I don't know if she had a bad dream or what but she refused to go back to sleep until about 4:30 and then she was up for the day at 5:45. I'm seeing an early nap in our future.

-I've been in major organization mode over here. Emerson has SO many toys and I'm trying to go through and get rid of the stuff that she doesn't play with. A lot of it is just little junk toys we've picked up along the way and they usually just end up scattered all over the floor.

-I'm also doing the same with my clothes. I already did it once when we moved in but I'm quickly learning that I don't wear half of the stuff that I keep hanging on to. Goodwill will be receiving a visit from us very soon!

-Does anyone else buy stuff they don't need every time they go to Target? Yesterday I went in for one thing and came out with this Waffle Stick Maker.

It was on clearance and Emerson is crazy about waffles so I couldn't resist. Luckily, I think this is one of those impulse purchases that was totally worth it. The waffle sticks are SO yummy and kind of remind me of funnel cakes!

-I also picked up this creamer. I typically drink my coffee black but I kept hearing great things about it. Let me just say I am NOT a fan. I don't think the flavor is bad on it own but I just don't think coconut and coffee go that well together.

-My sweet friend Jamie brought us lasagna for dinner last night! It was delicious and completely made my day.  Even Emerson was chowing down!

-We have family pictures on Sunday and I am so excited. We haven't had any made since Emerson was 6 months old so they are long overdue. Of course I am such a procrastinator and I have no idea what we are going to wear. At least it gives me an excuse to shop! :)

-About a month ago I bought a curling wand. I love the look of loose, beachy waves. The problem is that I can't for the life of me figure out how to use that thing and not end up looking like Medusa. I think I may need to YouTube it because I'm certainly not figuring it out on my own.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! Jesse is off until Monday so we're hoping to squeeze some fun things in this weekend!

Eme is going to love the waffle stick maker. Sorry she had a nightmare. That was sweet of Jame to bring lasagna.

Glad I'm not the only one that can't work those curling sticks. I think it's my hair (very fine and straight). I ended up giving mine to my sister and she loves it. I am back to my standard curling iron.

Ugh, I am soo in the same boat with the curling wand. I pretty much gave up! I can use it perfectly on someone else, but NOT on my own hair.

Those waffle sound YUMMY!

Happy 4th!

Yay for family photos! Those are always so much fun!

Oh and yes... I swear I buy things that I do not need EVERYTIME I go to Target.

I did the same with all my clothes! I alway have the same few things I go for in my closet and try and at least every season go through and get rid of the things i just never wear! Mostly because I need some room for new things!

That waffle maker looks like a great investment especially since E loves waffles. I might just have to make a target run to see if ours has it.

For the clothes, at the beginning of the year I always turn ours around the opposite way and after you wear it turn them around the correct way. At the end of the year I always donate a ton of clothes to Goodwill because it lets me know what I wear or don't wear. I always love to get rid of stuff I know I didn't wear in an entire year!

Target is the WORST for impulse purchases! I came home with a cake pop maker thing that kinda sucked. But that waffle stick maker looks awesome! I just bought that coffee creamer last week too, lol! (But I loved it. It's sweet, that's all I need, haha!) As for the curling wand, the trick is, don't leave the hair wrapped around it for too long. Leave an inch or two of the END of your hair out (don't wrap it at all) and brush through with your fingers after you've unraveled. It definitely loosens up after an hour or so. Hope that helps?

I am laughing out loud at your curling wand statement. I would probably look the same! LOL :) I have no style when it comes to clothes or hair. WHOO for family photos - I need to schedule some for us as well. We haven't had them since our girls were 2 :(

Addie has bad dreams sometimes too that wake her up and she wont go back to sleep...it makes me so sad for her because i dont know what to do to calm her:( Hope you guys got to take a long nap and catch up on some sleep!!

I've been terrified to use a curling wand ever since that youtube video of the girl burning her hair off went viral! Obviously if you use it properly it will be beautiful, but I'm that person that would burn her hair off because I can't identify my hair type and would crank the heat up! haha oh well. I've been in major organization mode too. I'm donating things left and right. I am just feeling the need to de-clutter my home and my life! Must be a summer thing :)

If we didn't already have a regular waffle maker I would go buy one of those! Also, I LOVE coconut in coffee so I'm sure I would love that creamer. We have been using coffeemate vanilla nut lately and I like it A LOT! I cannot drink mine black- I'm impressed that you do! And H loves lasagna, too! I need to make it more often- usually when he gets it my mom has made it. ;)

Can't wait to see family pics soon!! :) Oh, and we are so alike- I bought one of those wands about 2 months ago and have YET to figure that darn thing out!!!
