Hi everyone! In case you were wondering, I am still alive and well! After 8 wonderful days in Texas with our families, we returned home on Saturday night. I was pretty much MIA from the blog because I didn't take my laptop with me. Now that I'm back, I'm determined to get back into the swing of things when it comes to blogging. I know I keep saying that, but I'm serious this time! :)
Although our trip was short, we managed to squeeze a lot of fun in and to spend tons of time with our families. The trip there was a breeze and Emerson did great on both flights. We were there in less than 4 hours, which is much better than a 16 hour drive!
The day after we arrived we did what many west Texans do when there is nothing to do. We went to the sand hills. We spent the day 4 wheeling, sand sledding, playing in the sand, and even swimming. Emerson had a blast!
We were super excited because it was the first time in a long time that we've had so many of the cousins together. They had so much fun playing together!
The rest of the week flew by! We didn't have a lot of plans but we stayed busy eating (we ate WAY too much), playing, and hanging out.
Emerson had her first ice cream truck experience and also learned that the doggy door was her preferred path to the backyard.
The night before we left we bought a few fireworks for the girls. It was Emerson's first time with sparklers and that girl had no fear.
I hated that our trip went by so quickly but we were so thankful for the opportunity to go. With Jesse's upcoming deployment, it's going to be a long while before we are all together again. It felt good to be home on Saturday but we are already missing everybody so much!
