Baby #2: 12 Weeks

7.13.2013

How Far Along: 12 Weeks

Size of baby: Around 3 inches long (The length of a peach!)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +4 By this point in E's pregnancy I had gained 3 pounds so I'm not far off. I also started off about 5 pound lower this time around, so I'm hoping I'll be able to keep the weight gain to around 30 pounds. Next week it's back to healthy eating and an exercise routine, for sure!

Maternity Clothes:  Not yet but I'm ready for them to fit.  I have a few pairs of shorts and capris that are stretchy so I am able to wear them but other than that it's a no go.

Gender: We still don't know but I'm thinking girl. We will be absolutely thrilled either way! Since Jesse won't be here for the ultrasound, I'm trying to think of a fun way we can find out together. I might have the tech write it down instead of telling me so that we can at least find out together on Face Time.

Movement: So I've read that it is not medically possible at this point, but I swear I've felt movement a few times.

Symptoms: I've had some okay days and one really bad day this week. Yesterday I had an amazing day. As in I did not feel sick all day. It was wonderful and I'm praying that maybe there is a light at the end of this sickness tunnel!

Sleep: Still good! I've napped a few times this week.

What I miss:  Feeling good in my clothes. I'm thinking I might just have to break down and buy a smaller pair of maternity jeans to get me by until I get bigger.

Cravings:  This is so random but the other day I just really wanted Red Lobster. I don't think I've eaten there in a few years  but I was just dying for some popcorn shrimp and a baked potato. We went for lunch yesterday and it was everything I hoped for and more. :)

Best Moment This Week: Having a day of feeling good!

Shopping: I haven't bought anything but I've been pinning nursery ideas and looking at cribs. I can't wait to find out what we are having so I can get to work.

And just for fun, here is my 12 week update with Emerson in case you are interested. So far, I feel like the pregnancies are pretty much identical. Does that mean it's another girl? We shall see!

I felt Michael suuuper early around like 14 weeks-ish. And they weren't flutters, he was a little ninja from the get go! You look so cute! Can't wait to watch your baby grow!!!

I feel movement too and I'm not even pregnant, ha ha Phantom baby kicks I suppose. It's so weird because it literally feels just like a baby moving. I got them with both of my babies around 1 year postpartum. So weird and real feeling I had to take a pregnancy test.

I did feel real baby movement much sooner with my 2nd...like around 15-16 weeks and with Hadley it was super late like 20+ weeks. Probably because I was all stretch and ruined the second time.

I felt Colbie sooo early. I was doing tons of research to see if it was possible and I found a ton of other people say it too. I would have thought I was crazy but Tony could even feel it. She kept moving in this one part on the left side of my belly and this went on for probably a half hour. We were both just sitting there wondering how we could feel it, but I'm 100% sure that's what it was, so I think you are probably right! So fun!
Love the idea of waiting to be able to facetime jesse to find out-so sweet!

You are so cute!! I have friends that felt their second baby much earlier so its possible that you're feeling flutters! I love the idea of you finding out what baby is while you tell Jesse. That would make it special!

Maybe your dates are wrong, and you CAN feel it? I felt movement just before 15 weeks with William. My midwife said that's normal and you are almost there! Looking great Lady! I'm so so so happy for you!

You look so fabulous!!! I think it's so sweet that you're trying to find out a way to include Jesse in learning the sex. :) So excited for y'all to find out. Those first flutters are the best...hopefully they'll start being more distinct to you. :)
