We spent the evening finishing up our prep for our garage sale. Luckily E was busy playing with the neighbors so we were able to get everything done and ready.
We woke up bright and early ready for our big sale. Like I mentioned before, we really didn't care about making any money. We just wanted to get rid of everything and make room for our cars. We didn't have a ton of customers but the ones we did have bought A LOT. We got rid of tons of stuff and made over $200. Not bad for a few hours on a Saturday. :) Once we were finished we loaded everything up and took it straight to Goodwill. We can finally park one of our cars in the garage again. We just have a bit more organizing to do before both cars will fit. We're getting there...
Later that evening we made a Target run. I told Jesse that we had to go and buy more stuff to take place of what we sold. Haha! :) We actually didn't really buy anything except for a few groceries. Every time I looked at something it reminded me that we had just gotten rid of so much. It's helping me not to just buy stuff on impulse and to really think about what kinds of things we want in our home. I'm starting to realize that the less we have the easier it is to keep the place clean.
Jesse and Emerson brought me a sweet Mother's Day card in bed. Jesse let E decorate the envelope and she was so proud of it. Jesse's been asking me for a month what I want as a gift so I decided to use the opportunity to get new bedding. It's been ordered and should be here this week. Yay! I'm so excited.
Since we were up so early we decided to hit up the early service at church. I was very pleased with the church we tried and I think it might be a good fit for us. Emerson seemed to love the toddler room so that was a plus. In the service they played a super cute Mother's Day video. It had me in tears by the end. I am so, so blessed to be a momma to my sweet girl and to have such an amazing Mom and grandmothers. I just kept thanking God for blessing me far more than I deserve!
After church we wanted to do something fun so we headed out to Coronado Island for the first time. The weather was amazing so we just couldn't resist doing something outdoors. We ate a yummy lunch and tried to get Emerson to pose for some pictures.
And then E spotted the bikes for rent and we knew we had to do it.
She LOVED it and momma and daddy were able to burn off some of our lunch! :)
By the time we were finished Emerson was getting pretty tired so we decided to head home. Of course she passed out in the car on the way home and then woke up when we got home. Luckily our neighbors were outside playing in their pools and they invited Emerson to come play. She swam and splashed for a good two hours and was completely worn out by 5:00.
Overall I couldn't have asked for a better weekend! The only bad part is that it's already over!
I hope all of you mommies had a wonderful Mother's Day!
