Catch Up

I almost always post on Monday mornings. I love recapping our weekend and sharing what we've done. Unfortunately Emerson woke up with a nasty cold yesterday morning and I spent the day being her nurse. :) She started showing symptoms on Sunday but I was hoping it would pass quickly. That just wasn't the case though and she's still feeling pretty bad. The doctor said it's just viral so our only treatment is chicken noodle soup. I'm hoping she starts feeling better soon because we are both getting cabin fever already!

Anyway, I thought I'd do a little catch up today and share what we've been up (besides taking care of our little patient.)

Our final shipment arrived on Friday and I think Jesse and I both underestimated how much stuff we had. There were 72 boxes. Yuck! Even though I was happy to have some of the stuff we've been missing, I think we would probably be just fine without most of it. We had them put most of it in the garage and we're going through it to decide what we want to keep. We're planning on having a big yard sale this weekend. We just HAVE to get rid of some stuff. It has taken over our garage and we can't even park our cars.
On Saturday we went to a birthday party and barbecue. Emerson had the best time and she was beyond excited because she got to try her first lollipop. I don't think I've ever seen her sit in one place for that long.

Believe it or not, we had another birthday party to attend on Sunday. Luckily they were both right in our neighborhood so we didn't have to go far. They had a Minnie Mouse jumper at the second party and Emerson was so excited. She could see it from our living room window and she just couldn't wait for the party to begin.
She was also able to sweet talk several adults into giving her treats after we had told her she was done. I think she had more sweets in this one weekend than she has in her whole life combined. ;)

It started raining Sunday afternoon and has been raining on and off since then. It's perfect weather to stay home and hang out in our jammies. In between unpacking boxes I've been trying to spend as much time as I can cuddling with my sweet girl.
I've also started putting Emerson's room together. I'm so excited for her to have her furniture again. Her clothes have been in a suitcase and a few plastic bins for the last 3 months so it was tough to keep them organized! I had planned on going with a new theme for Emerson's big girl room but I decided to go ahead and stick with what we have for the time being. I'm excited to see how it turns out.

And that is about it as far as what we've been up to.  Hopefully these germs will pass through quickly and we can get back to our normal routine.

I can't imagine unpacking so much with a sick baby girl! I hope she starts feeling better soon so you can get back to your normal routine. We are planning to move to a bigger house within the next year or so and I am already dreading it! My husband loves to keep things--magazines and clothes especially! We have lots to go through before then! I also think it's so sweet how E got extra sweets at the party--that's hilarious! :)

So sorry she's sick! Haven't been feeling 100% myself either. I've been wanting to go with something new for G's room as well but I can't decide.

Oh goodness! I hope you get everything settled and figure out what to get rid of. I think that's the hardest part of moving! I hope Emerson is feeling better!

Aww that was one of our favorite cookouts - she was so darn good the whole day! Ask around, too, I am the crazy candy lady - I have so many friends who's kids had their first of something sweet while with me lol - a few were infants :D

Loving your blog!
