Trick or Treat, Smell My {Webbed} Feet

11.02.2012

Our little penguin was especially lucky this year because she got to Trick-or-Treat twice! On Tuesday night, our compound has trick-or-treating for all of the kiddos. It didn't start until after dark so we got a few shots of the little waddler before the fun began.

Finally, Trick-or-Treating time arrived and our little penguin was off!
It was so cute when she saw the other kids dressed up. She started running towards them in excitement but as soon as she got closer she got a little bit freaked out. She turned around and came running right back to us, only to trip and fall! Poor baby girl! Luckily, she got right up and she was just fine!
One of the kids was dressed up as a ghost and she was just mesmerized by him. She kept following him around and saying, "Boo!"

She got tons of candy but I think her favorite treat was lollipops.
She couldn't wait to show Daddy what she got.

After making the rounds, our little penguin was worn out. She sat with us for a while and helped hand out candy to the other trick-or-treaters.

And before we knew it, she was off again. She had so much fun checking out everyone's decorations and I had the best time hearing her say, "Trick or Treat" in her sweet little voice.
It was SO much fun!

On Halloween day we attended a Halloween party at the embassy. The kiddos got to go around and trick-or-treat at all of the offices and go through a haunted house. There were tons of cute costumes but Emerson was the only penguin!

They also had bouncy castles but she wasn't interested at all. She was happy to run around the lawn and dance to the music. We weren't allowed to take our cameras in but they had several official photographers there so hopefully we'll get those pictures back soon.

I have always loved Halloween and we have had some fun times in the past, but I have to say, without a doubt, that this was our best Halloween yet. There is just something so magical about experiencing it all with your baby for the first time. Seeing her precious smile and look of wonder was enough to keep me smiling for a lifetime!

It sounds like she had the BEST time! I bet it was so sweet hearing her say "trick or treat". Gracie was saying it all day long, but she wouldn't say it once she was actually trick or treating. She was so intimidated! It sounds like miss E was the life of the party!
