Home Sweet Home: Master Bedrooms

8.29.2012

Does everyone else still love Pinterest as much as I do? For a while I kind of stopped pinning, but lately it's been my favorite thing to do when I don't feel like doing anything else. So I guess it's safe to say it's my favorite distraction when I'm avoiding housework. Ha! I've also become mildly obsessed with Houzz.com. It's a lot like Pinterest, but it's all house photos. I have found SO many beautiful rooms there.

When I first found out we most likely weren't moving back to our home in NC, I thought for sure that my plans to DIY my little heart out would be put on hold. But I've been thinking about it a bit more and I've decided that I can still make our home pretty and fun to live in, wherever it may be. I may not be able to go crazy redoing things but I can at least paint and decorate to my hearts content. I think one of the first places I'll start is our master bedroom. I'm sad to say that I haven't done a single thing to our bedroom here. In fact, it's so plain and boring that I am embarrassed to show you. So instead, I thought I'd share some of my favorite master bedroom inspiration for our next house, wherever it may be. I don't really have a set idea of what I want to do, but these are a few rooms I'm loving.

We have dark wood furniture that I absolutely love but I am also really a fan of upholstered headboards. They just look so comfy! I also have really started loving painted vintage furniture. I used to want everything to match perfectly but I'm starting to find that I gravitate towards a more eclectic look these days. We still have a while before we have to even think about decorating again, but that certainly won't stop me from dreaming!

What do you look for in a master bedroom and where do you go for inspiration?

I still love pinterest too! That is where I get all my inspiration from. I agree that an upholstered headboard looks so comfy.

I love Houzz too! I want/need to redo our master. I don't like our dark furniture anymore and most of it was given to us. But, I'm just waiting until we move so I can see the new space.

Good taste in decor! I love searching Pinterest, but I rarely pin things. I guess I need to get on that if I ever have a chance of recreating some of the awesomeness on there.

These are amazing! Love them! We are in need of a master bedroom overhaul, and my only requirement is that it includes my cedar chest from my grandma, so this are great inspiration pieces.

Pinterest is my go to place for house inspiration. I love that last master bedroom. I am in love with grey and told Jason that our whole house might be different shades of grey because I love the color so much...LOL

I just like to see what my friends and family has done. My sister has the cutest master bedroom, so I tend to look at her house. I also love pinterest.....I have a board for practical house ideas and ones that I dream about! The next to last bed looks crazy comfy!

Love all of the gray. I so need to get motivated and do some decorating instead of just pinning.
