Blogger 411

7.17.2012

Today I am linking up with one of my favorite bloggers, Becky, for Blogger 411.
1. How long have you been blogging? And what got you started on blogging? Has your blog changed?

I've been blogging since April 2010. I started blogging when my husband and I moved to Africa on military orders. At first I just blogged to keep our family and friends updated on our big move. However as time went on I got to know other bloggers and fell in love with the awesome blogging community. I also love having my blog to look back on. It's so easy to forget the little things but luckily I have most of them documented right here!

2. Did you go to college? If so where, and what did you study?
I went to the University of North Carolina -Wilmington. I have a B.A. in Elementary Education and M.Ed in Elementary Education.

3. Where have you traveled? We are currently completing an overseas tour so we have been to a few fun places over the last 2.5 years. We were stationed in Burundi, Africa and now we live in the Middle East. During our tour we have traveled to Belgium, South Africa, Germany, Austria, and Dubai.

4. If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy?
I would pay off our house!

5. What are your 3 biggest pet peeves?

fake people, when people speed through parking lots, kids that aren't buckled up/in carseats

6. What is your favorite movie?
It's a tie between Sweet Home Alabama and How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days. I generally don't like to watch a movie more than once but I can watch those two over and over.

7. What is your drink of choice; wine, beer, or liquor
. Or Water, Soda, Tea?
Beer is my alcoholic drink of choice and coffee is my regular go-to drink. I'm a major coffee addict but luckily I'm not a major beer addict. Hehe.

8. What is something you enjoy to do when you have me
 time?
Crafting, browsing the internet, blogging

9. If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, which store would it be?

I think I'd have to say Target because you can get everything you need there!

10. Share with us an embarrassing moment of your past? Or present.

One time I was at Bed, Bath, and Beyond and I was carrying on a long conversation with the clerk. I was smiling my big gummy smile, as usual. When I got to the car I saw something strange in my rearview mirror and upon closer inspection saw that I had a giant blueberry stuck right to my front tooth. I guess I was saving it from my McDonald's yogurt parfait. No wonder the clerk was giving me such a funny smile. Yes, I'm a major dork and no, I don't eat parfaits anymore!

11. What day would you love to relive again?

Emerson's birthday (the day she was born not her first birthday!). I feel like some parts of the day have become a bit of a blur and I've love to go back. It was definitely the best day of my life!

12. If your life was turned into a movie... what actor would play you?
I would definitely want Reese Witherspoon to play me. I don't think I look anything like her but she is one of my favorite actresses because she seems nice and down-to-earth.

13. What are the jobs you had in high school/college/the early years?

I worked as a kindergarten teacher's assistant my senior year of high school and also as a receptionist at the Girl Scout Council. During college I worked as a preschool teacher in a classroom full of adorable three year olds. A few weeks ago one of those preschoolers turned 13!! Holy moly!

14. Show us a picture from high school or college.

This is my senior portrait circa 2000. Sorry for the terrible quality- it's a picture of a picture. And yes, I know. My bangs were horrific and one of my eyes looks way smaller than the other. I think that was before Photoshop was very well utilized.

15. If you could travel anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?
Bora, Bora baby!

16. Show us the most current picture of you or you and your family.
This is from Emerson's first birthday party last month.

17. Where do you see your life 5 years from now
As a military family it's hard to predict where we will be living but the good news is that the choices are pretty limited in the Marine Corps so we can narrow it down to about 5 places. I guess only time will tell! :) When it comes to kiddos I hope that we have at least one more by then. Maybe I will have returned to work or gathered the courage to start my own business. Or maybe we will win the lottery by then. If that's the case, I guess I better start playing! ;)

You've had such an adventurous life traveling around the world! I'm jealous :-) - Oh, and I have to say too, that I saw that you lost your sweet little pooch, and my heart just breaks for you. They are truly a part of the family, aren't they? (((hug)))

Stoping by from 411!
I like your blog design and font- I'm picky about following other blogs if they are too messy or hard to read :) Look forward to getting to know you!
