Hey y'all! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. Ours was pretty laid back. Jesse had a work function on Thursday night so Emerson and I just hung out at home. We really didn't do much of anything on Friday, and Saturday consisted of grocery shopping. Wow- we're exciting, huh? Since I don't really have much to recap from the weekend, I thought I 'd share a few miscellaneous things today.

1. I FINALLY decided on a stroller! With the amount of time I spent researching, you'd think I was investing a million dollars or something. I just had to laugh at myself for watching stroller reviews on You Tube. Man, life sure changes when you have a little one! I did get a good deal though, so I'm pretty excited. It's the little things in life! :)

2. Emerson and I have joined a children's book exchange. We send one book and in exchange we'll get 36 books. You can't beat that! I'm looking for six others to join in. Is anyone interested? If so let me know and I'll send you the email.

3. Our local grocery store was out of fresh spinach so I bought frozen spinach for our Green Monsters. I read in several recipes that it was okay to use.  Well let me just give you a little piece of advice: DON'T put frozen spinach in your Green Monster. It is absolutely gag-ariffic! :(

4. Now that Emerson has learned to pull up she is all over the place. I really can't be a foot away from her because she falls quite a bit. She already got her first battle scar- a bruise right on her forehead from hitting one of the dining room chairs. I'm sure it's the first of many!

5. She is also developing some separation anxiety. She won't let me out of her sight for more than a minute and has been really upset at nap time. Yesterday I was trying to take her pictures and she didn't even want me to move 5 feet away from her for the picture.

Needless to say I haven't been getting much done around the house but I sure am loving the extra cuddles.

6. Since almost every other part of this post is Emerson related, I might as well add one more. She said her first word (in context) a few days ago! Bye bye with a hand wave and all! It's the cutest thing I have ever seen! Of course when I'm trying to get video of it she won't do it but hopefully I'll be able to capture it soon.

7. A few days ago we were at the mall and I had Emerson in the Ergo carrier when a woman came up to me and asked me if she could kiss her! I was shocked! I've had people ask to hold her and take pictures with her but I've never had anyone ask to kiss her.  I usually have a hard time saying no to people but I think I yelled it this time. I'm sorry but I'm not going to let a complete stranger kiss my baby!

8. I think I finally found some jeans that I love- Miss Me jeans. My sister-in-law (hi Michelle!) recommended them to me when I posted about jeans before but I didn't want to order any without trying them on. Luckily my neighbor has a couple of pair and she offered to let me try them on. Y'all- they are SO cute and they fit just right!  If only money grew on trees...

9. Thank you to everyone for your kind words about my (lack of) friends post. It was amazing to hear from so many other women that feel the exact same way. I've really made an effort since then to get out and talk to my neighbors and we've already made plans for a few different things.  I also have a couple of playgroups to go to next week. I guess I just needed some encouragement!

10. My sweet girl is actually napping right at this moment and I have no idea how long it will last so I better get going on my to-do list, which includes folding the mountain of laundry on the dining room table and working out. Neither sounds like much fun but you gotta do what you gotta do.

11. And just because she's so darn cute, I'll leave you with one more picture of my baby.

Happy Monday!

People are crazy!!! When Ellie was younger everytime we went to the store people would be all over her, I had this old man put his hat on her head, I about had a heart attack. I would never ask if I could hold, let alone kiss, a strangers baby!!

OMG, WHAT?!?!?!??! What is wrong with people?!??! I cannot imagine ever approaching someone and asking to KISS their baby!!! This woman from my church was holding Callyn and she was kissing her on the cheeks & forehead and I was sooo weirded out by it! I can't imagine it being a complete STRANGER! How weird!
Anyways, now that I got that out :)
I think I would be interested in the book exchange-I'd love to hear more about it. I was actually just thinking Callyn needs some new books-I'm getting sick of reading the same ones over and over every day ;)
