Nothing to Complain About..

1.18.2012

I'm still working on putting together a few posts about the fun things we did while my parents were here as well as Emerson's 8 months post so I thought I'd write a quick and random post for today before bath time. :)

I haven't had a Diet Coke or Coke in 5 days. This may not sound like much but I am dying for one! I used to never drink soft drinks but for some reason I have become a Diet Coke addict over the last 6 months and I've had one at least every other day. I decided I really need to cut out that habit because they are just not good for you. I think once I make it past this first week I'll be good but until then I'll have to suffer! ;)

My sweet girl is 8 months old today! Seriously? How is that even possible? She's reached a lot of fun milestones over the last few weeks and I can't wait to talk about them in her 8 month post.

I've worked out for the last 3 days and I am SO incredibly sore today. I guess that means I used some muscles I haven't used in a while! Hopefully I'll keep it up.

I am about 4 weeks behind on my Project 365. I have all of the pictures- I just need to pick one for each day and put them in collages. That's on my to-do list for this week but we'll see if it gets done.

I have so many amazing and thoughtful people in my life and I'm so thankful for each of them.

My friend/former mentor teacher sent me this sweet birthday gift. It was such a fun surprise!

Thanks so much Sue!! I love the frames and I can't wait to put Emerson's pictures in them. I've also already started reading the book- it's amazing!

My sister-in-law and my step-brother sent all these cute clothes for Emerson from The Children's Place. I'm just dying over the jeggings, corduroy skirt, and all of the sweet shirts.  She's going to be one stylin' little girl. Thank you guys!

Over the weekend I came across Tripp's story. Although he fought a long and very brave battle, he went to be with Jesus on Saturday. I can't even begin to imagine the sorrow that Courtney must feel and I pray for God to comfort her and her family during this time. I read a lot of her posts over the weekend and one of them particularly hit home for me. She is so right when she says that so many of our complaints are just silly compared to what she and her sweet boy have been through. Every time I *think* something isn't perfect or just the way I want it I am going to remember Tripp and the hardships he faced with a smile on his face and an incredibly sweet spirit. I think we could all learn something from Tripp and his amazing Mommy.

I hope everyone is doing well! I haven't been that great about posting lately but I do have tons of posts planned- I just have to find the time to write them. :)

I am so proud of my amazing and sweet daughter. You are such a good mother. I am already counting the days until we see you all again. It just seems like yesterday that Emerson was born. She is so precious to us.

I loved that picture of her! And Yes the story of tripp is so sad but Im so glad he isn't suffering anymore.

Good job on the no diet coke!!! I managed to make chocolate chip cookies and only ate 3, that was impressive by me!

Good for you with the diet cokes. I'm a caffeine free Diet Dr. Pepper addict. It's one of those little things that lifts my mood a little...not sure I can give it up! Haha! I worked out Monday and I am still oh-so-sore. Yes, sweet Tripp's story is very heartbreaking and very inspiring. I can't even imagine...

Tripps story just broke my heart!! I hate when stories like these put things into perspective. E's outfits are adorable, I love the children's place!

You're doing great with the DC thing. I too became an addict and decided to stop cold turkey, hah. You can do it! Its been almost 6 months for me and I don't even miss it anymore

I never craved Diet Coke until I was pregnant. How weird and unhealthy is that. I quit drinking it when I got pregnant again but now I'm craving it again. I bought a pack of the little cans and I just want more more more!
