A Night at the Palace

11.08.2011

In yesterday’s post I mentioned that we had the amazing opportunity to stay overnight at the Emirates Palace.

Marine Corps Ball 2011 211-1

They call it a Palace for a reason! It is one of the world’s most expensive hotels and people come from all over the world to see it. We were beyond thrilled to get to stay there!

We were even more excited when we arrived and they told us that we were being upgraded to a Palace Suite- complete with our very own butler. Talk about a once in a lifetime experience. Of course, being my typical self, I took tons of pictures.

Unfortunately I really don’t think my pictures do it justice but I’m sure you get the idea.

We also had a gorgeous view from our balcony. The water looked so blue…

The day after the ball we spent our time lounging around the pool and enjoying the beautiful grounds.

We also got to do something I’ve been dying to do forever…

Here’s a little hint:

That’s right- we got to ride camels! I’ve heard that they are mean and super stinky but I have to tell you that these camels were pretty darn cute and they didn’t stink at all.

Needless to say, our stay at the Palace was absolutely wonderful and I definitely hope we get to do it again!

That's BEAUTIFUL and so awesome that y'all got the upgrade! :)

For a side note and you definitely do not have to tell me, but are you in Dubai? I know you didn't say, but my college roommate is from Dubai (and currently lives there now) and one of my husbands best friends was in Qatar for like a year or so. I guess this post just made me curious! :)
