The ABC’s of Me

9.30.2011

I saw this on Nicole’s blog and thought it might be a fun topic for this wonderful Friday. Smile

Apples- Apples are my favorite fruit and I eat at least one every day.

Blogging- I’m slightly addicted to everything blog related. I love blogging and I love reading other blogs.

Clearance Racks- I LOVE to shop. Seriously, it’s a little bit of an addiction. But in my defense I have to say that I am an excellent bargain shopper. I always head straight to the clearance racks and I can usually find some really cute stuff! I haven’t done much shopping here because everything is super expensive and there ar

Dogs- We have two Miniature Schnauzers, Oscar and Grace. They are currently living with my parents because we couldn’t bring them with us overseas. They will always be our first babies.

Education- I have a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. I taught 1st and 2nd grade for four years before becoming a Training and Curriculum Specialist. I don’t know what I’ll do when I return to work, but hopefully it will be something in the education field.

Fitness- I go through phases where I workout all.the.time. Then I go through phases where I have to force myself to get in one workout a week because I am so lazy. I’m in the lazy phase right now but trying to get out of it…. When I am in the fitness mode I like to run. I also love workout videos. I have tons of them… My favorite is The Firm.

Goals- I’m trying to complete Project Zero (101 goals in 1001 days). I’ve been working on my goals for a year now and have completed quite a few, but still have a long way to go. You can read about it here.

Hobbies- I love reading, decorating, shopping and doing anything crafty. My newest hobby is sewing. I’m definitely a beginner but I’m learning.

Internet- I can’t live without the internet. I do most of my shopping online now and I have several sites that I check daily. My current favorite site is Pinterest. I find EVERYTHING there and I love it!

Follow Me on Pinterest

Jesse- My husband and best friend. We’ve been together for almost 14 years and married for almost 10. We sure have come a long way together and we are blessed beyond measure.

Kids- We finally became parents this year. We have a precious baby girl, Emerson Olivia, who is 4.5 months old. She is my whole world. (And she’s pretty stinking adorable, if I do say so myself.)

Lonely- Living overseas has been a fun adventure but I’ll be the first to admit that it has been very hard to be so far away from our family and friends.

image

Marine Corps- My hubby is a United States Marine and we are proud to be a Marine Corps family. Hoorah! Smile

image

Nieces and Nephews-  On my side we have 5 nieces and on Jesse’s side we have two nieces and three nephews.

Overseas- We are currently living at our second overseas post. We were previously in Burundi, Africa. We have about a year and a half left before we get to return to the most amazing country on Earth: USA, baby!

Parents- I have the most amazing parents in the world. I consider my Mom to be one of my very best friends and she is the first person I call with good news or a question.

image

Queen of Bows- I love, love, love putting bows on my baby girl. Now don’t get me wrong, I think she looks just as beautiful without them, but they sure are fun. Before she was born I said I would only stick to little bows, but I have to admit that the bows are getting bigger and the bow collection is growing quickly. You know what they say: the bigger the bow, the better the Momma.

Religion- I am a Christian, but I struggle to be a good one. I haven’t been the best about going to church or reading the Bible and I don’t always live the way that God would have me to live, but I’m trying to get better. The awesome thing about it though, is that God loves me unconditionally, no matter what.

Stay-at-home Momma- I’m super lucky to be able to stay home with my baby girl and I’m loving every second of my new job and I know it’s the most important job in the world.

image

TV- I really don’t watch a lot of TV. I got out of the habit while we were in Africa and even though we have cable now I don’t normally turn on the tv during the day. That being said, I do have a few favorite shows: Grey’s Anatomy, Dexter, and True Blood.

Undomestic- I don’t love to cook but I’m working on it. The crockpot has become my new best friend. I’m also not a fan of cleaning (who is?) but since I’m staying home I can’t really justify having someone else do it. Bring on the Swiffer.

Vacations- I love to travel! We are making it our goal to take at least one family vacation a year. In 2011 we have been to Cape Town, South Africa and Garmisch, Germany.

Weight Loss-  I have lost all 36 lbs that I gained during pregnancy, but I still need to lose about 7 more pounds to be at my happy weight. The problem is I can’t seem to get myself motivated to workout or eat right!

excited- Life has never been better and I’m excited about the future. We have so much to look forward to and so much to be thankful for.

Years Old- I’ll be the big 3-0 this year!  I only have two more months in my twenties!

Zealous photographer- I love taking pictures (I have over 3000 of E) and I’m currently trying to learn how to use my camera on manual mode. I’m also trying to learn how to edit my pics to make them better.
