Connected Again

8.08.2011

Woohoo- we FINALLY have temporary internet at home. It’s not the fastest but it will do until we get the good stuff installed. I have hated feeling so disconnected but I guess it’s been good because I’ve been able to get a lot of stuff done without Blogger, Facebook and Pinterest calling my name. Smile

Here are a few things that have happened while I’ve been gone:

-We moved across the world! I don’t want to get too specific just to be on the safe side- but I can say that we are living somewhere in this general area.

-Emerson has adjusted really well. She did GREAT on the flights. I have a post about flying with an infant coming soon. The first few nights she only slept 1-2 hours at a time- probably because of her sleeping arrangements. We shipped her Pack ‘N play several weeks in advance but we beat it here, so she had to sleep in her stroller the first two nights we were here. We thought it was a safe alternative to sleeping in bed with us.

A few days ago she started going to bed around 7:00 pm and sleeping until 5:30-6:00 am. It has been awesome compared to her usual 10:30 bedtime! Smile We have also adjusted her nap and feeding schedule and it seems to be going great.

-We are slowly adjusting to our new life here. It’s an incredibly nice and super modern place- about a million steps above where we were in Africa- but it still takes times to get used to. I guess no matter how nice the place is you will always experience a little bit of culture shock. Look for some posts on that too!

-I’m so excited to finally get started on Emerson’s nursery. Our house has the perfect room for her and I can’t wait to get it set up and decorated. I’m hoping to pick out furniture this week. For now I’m busy unpacking all of her stuff. For such a little thing, she sure does have a lot of stuff!

Now that I’m connected again I’m hoping to catch up with everyone. My computer time is limited to naptime so it might be slow going at first. Smile Happy Monday everyone!

Glad you guys are settling in!!! I can't wait to hear about the nursery - I used Restoration Hardware as the inspiration for Addie's nursery (the pink and grey with elephants one) but everything was SO expensive that I ended up just getting alot of things from PBK and BRU because the prices were so much better!!! I can't wait to see pics:)
