German Food, Swarovski Crystals, and Cemeteries

3.22.2011

While we were in Germany, we made sure we ate plenty of Bavarian food. While we were there it was Carnival (similar to Mardi Gras) so there was always plenty of live music and crazy costumes. IMG_3757

On one of Jesse’s days off we took a tour to Swarovski Crystal World in Austria. We were thinking it was going to be a tour of the factory and show how the crystals were made. Instead it was more like a crazy, psychedelic art museum. It was VERY weird!

We also got the chance to go to Innsbrook, Austria for a few hours. I loved the old buildings with the mountains in the background.

This church leases out their burial plots. The lease expires after 200 years and the bodies are moved to a state sponsored cemetery on the expiration date. Crazy, huh?

More German fun to come in the next post…
