Happy New Year 2011

1.01.2011

I hope everyone had a fantastic New Year's Eve. We spent it with a great group of friends. Pictures to come soon...

I usually make at least a few resolutions each year, but of course, I rarely follow through. I'm not doing resolutions this year because I have my 101 in 1001 list and I'm still working on it. I have decided to take on two year long projects though, in place of resolutions. I'm super excited about both (and thankful to some awesome bloggers who shared the ideas with me).

1. I'm going to take part in Beth Moore's Siesta Scripture Memory Team.

If you want all of the nuts and bolts, check out Beth's site here. But here it is in a nutshell: I'm committing to memorizing 24 scriptures this year. On the 1st and 15th of each month I will pick one verse to memorize- the suggestion is to pick one that relates to your life right then. I love this idea and I think it's a perfect challenge for 2011. I'll be posting ieach verse here and you can check my progress by clicking on SSMT tab at the top. I'll post my first verse later today. I have to say a special thanks to Rebekah at Life with the Edwards for sharing this awesome idea!

2. My second goal is to take part in Project 365.

The purpose of Project 365 is to take one picture everyday for 365 days. I thought this would be a perfect way to practice using my new camera! I have to be honest and say that most of my photos probably won't be that great at the beginning. I'm just starting to figure out the basics of my camera, so don't expect masterpieces from me. :) Although this is a daily project, I won't be posting my photos each day. I'll be doing a weekly post (I haven't decided which day yet- maybe Sundays?)  with all of my photos and archiving them here. I'll also upload them into my Photobucket account for easy viewing- I'll share the link when I upload my first week's photos. Thanks to Kit from A Step Into My Life for sharing this one. I can't wait to get started.

What are you goals this year? Are you taking part in any big projects? I'd love to hear about them...
